Minimum Control Measures

Public Education and Outreach

Synopsis

Through proactive outreach, the Public Education and Outreach Program provides information to the public about stormwater pollutants and their impacts on Maui’s waters. By encouraging a positive change in attitudes and behaviors, this program works to improve stormwater quality and prevent pollution of Maui’s oceans, rivers and streams. The Public Education and Outreach Program promotes awareness within the community about how everyone’s daily activities can affect the quality of stormwater runoff, and works to inform the general public about sources of pollution, how pollutants reach larger bodies of water, and their impacts to the environment.
