Highways Maui District proudly recognizes Maui Brewing Company as the latest recipient of the No Ka Oi Highway Hui Award—a tribute to their outstanding commitment and volunteer efforts through the Adopt-A-Highway program.

Since joining the program in 2022, Maui Brewing Company has organized ongoing cleanups along both Hana Highway and, more recently, Pi‘ilani Highway near their Kihei location. With over 75 volunteers involved and more than 80 bags of trash removed, their team continues to show up for the ‘āina—and for each other.

“Our team works really hard, and it’s not always easy for restaurant people to get out at 8 a.m. to do a service project like this,” said Kami Lloyd, Maui Brewing’s special events and marketing manager. “So to reward them for waking up and going out there—this award is awesome. They deserve it.”

In addition to keeping their segment clean, Maui Brewing has built a reputation for being quick to offer help wherever it’s needed—especially along sections that face heavier traffic or winds. Their commitment has not gone unnoticed.

“When we were doing cleanups on the North Shore, the number of honks and shakas—it’s nice to see that the community is rallying with you,” Lloyd added. “I encourage other people to sign up. It’s actually a fun thing that you can do.”
