Highways Maui District had a blast visiting the 2nd graders at Kamaliʻi Elementary on September 24! We shared stormwater science through fun, hands-on activities that showed how rainwater moves across Maui and how trash and pollution can end up in the ocean.
With the EnviroScape and Stormdrain models, students saw how stormwater can carry everything in its path. They also learned simple ways to help protect Maui—like keeping drains clear, picking up litter, and remembering that only rain should go down the drain.
A big mahalo to Kamaliʻi Elementary for having us! We loved seeing students learning and sharing ideas about how they can help care for our island.
