Highways Maui District had so much fun visiting the 2nd graders at Kamali‘i Elementary School on February 26th! We connected with over 50 students through hands-on activities that showed how rainwater flows through Maui and how pollution can sneak into our ocean.
With the EnviroScape and Stormdrain models, students got to see how trash and other pollutants travel with stormwater. They also learned easy ways to help keep our water clean, like throwing away litter and making sure only rain goes down the drain!
Mahalo to Kamali‘i Elementary for having us—we loved exploring how small actions can help protect Maui’s waters!
