Q1 2025 No Ka Oi Highway Hui Recipient: Tenrikyo Molokai

Highways Maui District is proud to spotlight Tenrikyo Molokai as our Quarter 1 2025 recipient of the No Ka Oi Highway Hui Award. This recognition celebrates their outstanding commitment and ongoing efforts as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program.

Since 2016, Tenrikyo Molokai has cared for a two-mile stretch of Kamehameha V Highway (mile markers 0–2). Reverend Toshinori, Mrs. Fumie Suzuki, Daniel Kauhini Rodan, and Yuri, along with a dedicated group of volunteers, have welcomed over 40 participants and removed more than 70 bags of litter, ensuring this part of Molokai remains clean and inviting.

“We are thrilled to be part of this program,” shared Daniel Kauhini Rodan, one of the group’s volunteers. “And to those who honked and cheered us on during our cleanups, much mahalo!”

Tenrikyo Molokai’s dedication not only supports the program’s mission but also reflects their values of fostering a joyful life through acts of service and kindness.

Mahalo to Tenrikyo Molokai for your unwavering commitment to keeping Molokai beautiful and inspiring others to make a difference!
